Lamb Rogan Josh

Lamb Rogan Josh

Today is Day 2 of our curry week special!
After our yummy Chicken Tikka Marsala yesterday we are spicing things up a bit today with a lovely rich and spicy Rogan Josh.
Rogan Josh is a curry dish hailing from Kashmir and is quite popular in India, Pakistan, Singapore as well as here in the UK.

Rogan translates to oil in Persian, while Josh means heat, hot, boiling, or passionate. Put simply Rogan Josh means cooked in oil at intense heat.

This authentic, medium spiced dish would be perfect to heat things up  on a drery autumn  night! Read the rest of this entry »

Indian Curry Chicken Tikka Masala

Indian Curry Chicken Tikka Masala

As its Curry Week this week we have decided to post a new curry recipe here for you everyday.
Give them a try, you can get everything spicy that you need right here and everything else is readily available at your local supermarket.

We challenge you not to love it just as much as your local take away! ( a lot healthier and cheaper too! )
This first one is very simple and fairly mild. An absolute currytastic classic!
You do ideally need to marinate the chicken overnight so it takes a bit of pre-planning, but really that’s most complicated thing about it! Read the rest of this entry »

Spices usually used for Mulled Wine

mulled wine

Xmas Mulled Wine

With Christmas fast approaching thoughts turn (at least in my mind) to eating drinking and being merry!
I love all the food we have over the festive period, roast turkey, sage herb stuffing, pigs in blankets, gravy, mince pies, Christmas pud! …..sorry got a bit carried away!
But I also love the drinks! The most Christmassy of all I think is mulled wine. I know you can buy it ready-made in bottles but there is nothing more satisfying than making it yourself - especially when your drinking it!

I did a bit of research and came up with a Mrs Beeton Classic, apparently the idea of mulled wine originates in Germany but if there is such a thing as traditionally English mulled wine then this must be it. You can’t beat Mrs Beeton can you its a goody! ENJOY!
